Job Description

This position provides comprehensive support to MSP members by guiding them through the retirement planning and implementation process, coaching them on available financial-assistance resources, and developing, coordinating, and delivering training and curriculum that enhance understanding of retirement, financial wellness, resiliency, and overall member well-being. This position designs and implements departmental trainings and wellness programs, ensuring members and staff receive accurate, accessible, and engaging educational materials that promote informed decision-making and long-term stability. In addition, serve as the section Training Administrator for the Professional Development Learning Center (PDLC), maintaining training records, instructor lists, and wellness-resource contacts to support efficient program operations. The role also contributes to departmental wellness initiatives by serving as a Certified Facility Dog Handler, supporting member and staff resilience through structured engagement and outreach activities. Travel is required for this position.

Education for Human Resources Developer 9-P11 Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Experience for Human Resources Developer 9-P11 Human Resource Developer 9 No specific type or amount is required. Human Resource Developer 10 One year of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer. Human Resource Developer P11 Two years of professional experience in planning, developing, conducting, or evaluating staff development, training, or other programs equivalent to a Human Resources Developer, including one year equivalent to a Human Resources Developer 10. Education and Experience for Human Resources Developer (Departmental Trainee) 9 (FOR

) Education Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience Administrative Support Experience Two years of E10- or E11-level experience. OR Four years of advanced or supervisory 9-level, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9 experience. OR Two years of advanced or supervisory 10-level experience. OR One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience. Business and Administrative Experience Two years of E9- or E10-level experience. OR One year of advanced or supervisory 10-level (or higher) experience. Human Services Experience Two years of E9- or 10-level paraprofessional• or nursing experience. OR Two years of E10- or E11- or supervisory 10-level experience. OR One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience. Engineering and Scientific Experience Two years of E10-, E11-level or supervisory 10-level experience. OR One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience. Safety, Security and Regulatory Experience Two years of E11-level experience. OR Two years of advanced or supervisory 10-level experience. OR One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience. •Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college. Educational Substitution College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience. Human Resources Developer 9 - P11 Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement. This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
