Complies with the state approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces department/unit procedures, administrative directives and state statutes concerning the confidentiality of all staff information. Promotes positive community relations through effective communication with prospective employees, Gadsden Independent School Employees, and community members. Processes Background Checks Sets appointments for fingerprinting with or distributes cards and documents needed for fingerprinting to new applicants, employees, substitutes, student teachers, practicum, internship, observations, tutors (federal programs) and volunteers. Receives authorization to release information forms, along with money orders and issues receipts to applicants or employees. Turns in money to finance and maintains log for verification purposes. Concerns, when and if received, will be forwarded to the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources for further action. The original will be archived with Legal Specialist. Sets-up and maintain database of fingerprint information for all new applicants and/or employees. Files management of fingerprint information, archiving expired clearances as needed. Collaborates with Licensure Coordinator and Substitute to ensure that background checks are cleared for Licensure. EEOC Claims and Law Suites Original EEOC claims will be copied and processed so the information that is needed is provided to the attorneys. Prepares and mails out packets to attorneys. ID Badges Creates ID badges for all new employees, CSA's, volunteers. Replaces lost/damaged badges as needed. Collects $3.00 fee for replacement badges and issue receipts. Immigration/ I-9 Authorization Fills out I-9 information for all new employees. Verifies eligibility for employment; make copies of identification; attach to I-9 form to place in Personnel File. Maintains log of employees with Resident Alien Cards with expiration dates. Request new cards from employees as needed to update information. Section 504 Coordinates Section 504 processes by scheduling meetings, preparing required 504 documentation, and facilitating Section 504 meetings with staff and HR. District Policies Revises policies to fit new format Forwards revised policies to Associate Superintendent for Human Resources for approval and/or revisions. Makes changes/revisions to policies as noted by Associate Superintendent for Human Resources. Prepares final draft(s) of policies for Board Approval. Assures that final policies are forwarded to administrators and/or designated contacts. Initiates the offer of employment for athletic coach employees and follows up with the necessary paperwork. Verifies background check and licensure of all athletic coach employees prior to the start of a coaching season. Performs other duties as assigned. LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and maintain instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees. Working knowledge of business English, and Spelling.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percents, ratios, rate, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
