Job Description

Reader HR Consulting is currently seeking a part-time HR Consultant to join our growing team. This is a part-time position; approximately 10 to 20 hours weekly with the potential for more hours. Hours may fluctuate based on business/client needs, but consultant availability is necessary during normal business hours in order to support clients. This is a hybrid position; Consultant must be available for onsite work based on client needs and must have reliable transportation. At Reader HR, you can use your top-notch HR skills and work with a variety of clients to solve the toughest problems. We serve small to mid-sized businesses in a variety of industries, providing practitioner and consulting services in all aspects of HR.
Job Duties include:
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for an assigned group of clients. Provide professional human resource support in a variety of areas to include recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, leaves of absence, unemployment and worker's compensation, and conflict resolution. Provide guidance on HR best practices, compliance, and risk mitigation. Support clients in addressing complex HR challenges and improving business outcomes. Maintain HR documentation and records, including employee personnel files, processing onboarding and off-boarding paperwork, recording changes in job classifications, salary increases, etc. Administer employee benefits programs, including benefits renewals, enrollments, changes and terminations, as well as resolve any benefits-related issues timely. Prepare new hire paperwork, conduct background checks, and help with onboarding processes. Managing payroll and client HRIS systems. Assist in benefits administration and employee leave tracking. Help organize and create training sessions, employee events, and performance review processes. Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance. Prepare HR documents such as employment letters and reports, as well as HR templates. Assist with HR projects such as conducting HR assessments and compliance audits, employee handbooks, organizational design, performance management, and HR process improvement initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of all HR and company-related matters. Maintain subject matter expertise in all operational and tactical areas of HR including, but not limited to, employment law, FLSA classifications, leave management, HR technology, benefits management, and compensation Be an all-around HR superhero to our clients! The ideal candidate will have the following: At least five years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience required. Undergraduate degree in related discipline preferred or equivalent training and experience. Active HRCI or SHRM professional certification a plus. Ability to understand and comply with Federal and State Employment Laws. Must have experience in payroll process and HRIS systems, preferably with the ability to navigate multiple platforms. Experience with annual benefit open enrollment and ACA requirements. The ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including C-Suite and VP levels, with confidence and poise. Ability to work independently managing a variety of projects. Responsive with outstanding communication skills. Creative problem-solver and HR critical thinker. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Dedicated to consistently providing high-touch customer care. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Able to develop a strong rapport with clients and maintain excellent work relationships Enjoys a flexible, energetic, and exciting work environment.
Required:
