This position plays a critical support role within the organization — managing day-to-day financial records while simultaneously supporting core human resources functions including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a resourceful (possibly retired) professional who thrives wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, field-operations environment and understands the unique administrative demands of a security and protective services workforce. You will serve as a key operational partner to leadership, ensuring both financial accuracy and workforce compliance remain consistently strong. This role offers a flexible part-time schedule of 20-25 hours per week and carries strong potential to grow into a full-time position as the company continues to expand its regional footprint. Duties Requirements Bookkeeping & Financial Management Maintain accurate general ledger records and record daily financial transactions with precision and consistency. Must be a QuickBooks expert. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate posting Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis Run bi-weekly payroll processing, including officer overtime calculations and shift differentials specific to security industry operations Work with ADP to prepare and file quarterly and annual tax documents, including sales tax, payroll tax, and W-2s Generate monthly financial reports and budget-vs-actual summaries for senior management review Coordinate with the external CPA for year-end close procedures and audit preparation Track employee hours, certification reimbursements, and equipment-related expenses Manage vendor relationships and ensure invoices are processed in a timely, accurate manner Human Resources & Compliance Post job openings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews for security officer and administrative positions Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, including background checks, I-9 verification, and new hire paperwork Maintain and update employee records, personnel files, and HR databases to ensure accuracy and confidentiality Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable federal and Ohio state labor laws. Support licensing and certification tracking for security personnel in accordance with Ohio OPOTA requirements Draft and update HR policies, employee handbook sections, and internal administrative procedures Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations questions, escalating issues to leadership as appropriate Coordinate performance review cycles and maintain thorough documentation of disciplinary actions Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a professional environment Minimum 1-2 years of HR generalist or HR support experience Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and the full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Solid working knowledge of GAAP bookkeeping principles Working knowledge of federal and Ohio state employment law and regulatory requirements Demonstrated experience processing multi-employee payroll, including variable pay structures Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities Proven ability to handle confidential employee and financial information with the highest degree of discretion and professionalism Preferred Attributes Experience in the security services, law enforcement support, or field-operations industry Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as ADP QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification or a recognized bookkeeping credential (AIPB, NACPB) Active HR certification:
