Human Resources Generalist Orbit Healthcare | Charlottesville, VA (on-site, multi-site) | Full-time About the Role Orbit Healthcare is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to serve as the on-the-ground HR presence for our Charlottesville-area locations. Based at our Charlottesville 29 Warehouse with regular travel to other area sites, this role owns day-to-day HR execution, including payroll support, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, and recordkeeping, while partnering closely with operational leaders and reporting to the Director of Human Resources. This is a hands-on generalist role for someone who can independently manage routine HR matters, exercise sound judgment on when to escalate, and stay organized across multiple priorities and locations in a fast-paced operational environment. What You'll Do Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across assigned Charlottesville sites Support payroll accuracy, timekeeping resolution, and payroll-related employee changes Guide employees through benefits enrollment, eligibility, and general questions Partner with hiring managers on recruiting, screening, offers, and onboarding Document and help resolve employee relations matters, escalating high-risk issues promptly Support managers with performance documentation and corrective action Maintain compliance with employment postings, training records, and personnel files Coordinate training completion and separations/offboarding What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of progressive HR generalist experience across multiple functions (ER, recruiting, payroll, benefits, compliance) Working knowledge of federal and state employment law Experience with HRIS, payroll, and applicant-tracking systems Strong judgment, discretion, and communication skills Ability to travel routinely between Charlottesville-area sites Preferred HR experience in logistics, warehousing, or another operational environment Experience with Paychex Flex SHRM-CP or PHR certification Knowledge of Virginia employment practices

Compensation:

$62,000 to $70,000, depending on experience

Pay:

$62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
