Foster Parent Recruiter/Community Partner Specialist

Job Description

Our mission is to increase the number of youth who successfully exit the state custody system and achieve a brighter future through comprehensive programs and dedicated partnerships. Job Summary The Foster Parent Recruiter/Community Partnership Specialist is under the direction of the Foster Care Services Director and is responsible for recruiting, educating, and supporting prospective foster parents while developing and maintaining community partnerships that increase awareness of Wayne Provision's foster care program. This position is responsible for identifying potential community partners, investors, and fundraising opportunities. This position assists in meeting agency goals, Department of Children's Services (DCS) contract requirements, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to identify qualified foster parent applicants.
  • Represent Wayne Provision at community events, churches, schools, civic organizations, businesses, and other public venues to promote foster parenting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, referral sources, and local stakeholders to strengthen recruitment efforts.
  • Plan and coordinate foster parent recruitment events, informational meetings, and orientations.
  • Conduct presentations regarding the need for foster families and the services provided by Wayne Provision.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from prospective foster parents and guide applicants through the recruitment process.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospective foster parents from initial inquiry through licensure.
  • Provide support to applicants in completing required documentation and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with licensing staff to ensure applicants meet all DCS and agency requirements.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking information, ensuring information is entered into and maintained within the agency's current tracking systems.
  • Assist with recruitment marketing efforts, including social media, printed materials, and community outreach campaigns.
  • Develop relationships with current foster parents to encourage referrals and retention.
  • Coordinate appreciation and recognition activities for foster families as assigned.
  • Participate in community coalitions, networking opportunities, and professional organizations that support child welfare initiatives.
  • Coordinate planning and implementing fundraising initiatives and community campaigns to support Wayne Provision's foster care programs and services, including identifying potential donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant, agency, and client information.
  • Prepare monthly recruitment activity reports and maintain required documentation.
  • Participate in agency meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Wayne Provision mission statement and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with a major in Social Work, Human Services, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Psychology, or a related field. If the degree is in criminal justice, there must be a juvenile justice component.
  • Master's Degree in the social sciences or volunteer, practicum or intern experiences in programs/facilities that work with children and families preferred but not required.
  • Experience in foster care, child welfare, recruiting, community outreach, marketing, sales, or public relations preferred.
  • Experience with public speaking and community engagement preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to meet all agency, DCS, and background screening requirements.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and driving.
  • Frequent travel throughout assigned communities.
  • Ability to attend evening and weekend events as needed.
  • In-person interaction required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must pass a drug screening.

$52,000.00 per year
