Recruiting is essential to our ability to staff operations, support new business, and deliver reliable service. We are investing in recruiting leadership that can build strong teams and improve hiring performance as the business grows. Job Summary The Vice President of Recruiting will lead high-volume field recruiting for frontline security personnel across an assigned region, initially focused on Michigan. This leader will turn staffing needs into practical hiring plans, develop recruiting managers and teams, and improve performance from sourcing through onboarding and readiness to work. This role requires an active presence in the field and a willingness to work alongside recruiters. The successful candidate will learn the process firsthand, lead hiring events, resolve operational challenges, and build a foundation for broader regional responsibility. Primary Responsibilities Regional Recruiting Leadership Develop and execute recruiting plans for the assigned region, aligning recruiter capacity, sourcing activity, and hiring priorities with staffing demand. Provide the Chief People Officer with clear performance updates, flag risks early, and follow through on corrective actions. Recruiting Execution and Onboarding Oversee high-volume frontline hiring across assigned locations, ensuring timely, consistent execution from sourcing and screening through onboarding and readiness to work. Visit recruiting offices and sites, lead hiring events, and work directly with teams to identify bottlenecks, improve conversion, and reduce delays. Team Development and Accountability Lead and coach recruiting managers and distributed teams; establish clear expectations and assess performance against hiring needs. Develop team capabilities, address performance gaps, and recommend staffing or leadership changes that improve delivery. Recruiting Systems and Reporting Ensure effective use of recruiting systems and implementation of departmental process changes; translate new requirements into clear team actions. Use recruiting activity, funnel conversion, hiring output, and onboarding data to identify problems and guide operational decisions. Operations Partnership and Transitions Partner with Operations and regional recruiting peers to align staffing priorities, start dates, and onboarding requirements while maintaining clear ownership. Support new business launches and contract transitions in person; learn transition requirements firsthand and coach the team to execute future launches. Candidate Experience Maintain consistent candidate communication and a responsive hiring process across assigned locations. Ensure recruiters set accurate expectations and guide candidates through required hiring and onboarding steps. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive recruiting or talent acquisition experience, including a strong record of delivering high-volume hiring for hourly, frontline employees. At least 3 years of recruiting leadership experience, including management of recruiting managers or distributed teams. Experience improving recruiting operations in a fast-growing organization, preferably in staffing, security, logistics, retail, food production, or another environment with significant frontline hiring. Demonstrated ability to coach managers, improve hiring results, and remain directly involved in recruiting execution. Experience using recruiting platforms, reporting, and funnel data to identify bottlenecks and improve team performance. Strong communication, judgment, and cross-functional partnership skills; a consistent habit of surfacing issues early and following through. Willingness to lead hiring events, learn the full candidate journey firsthand, and travel to support sites and transitions. Location and Travel Based in the Detroit metropolitan area, with an active, in-person presence at recruiting offices and sites across Michigan. Travel within Michigan and to other markets is required. Transition assignments may involve approximately four to six weeks away, potentially once or twice per year, depending on business needs.
