Job Description

Position Summary The Lead Youth Development Professional supports Site Leadership in ensuring high‑quality programming, strong youth engagement, and consistent implementation of Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) practices. This role works closely with Youth Development Professionals to guide lesson planning, model effective program delivery, and help create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for youth and teens. You'll be a key connector — supporting staff, engaging families, coordinating activities, and helping the site run smoothly. What You'll Do Facilitate programs and model strong group management and youth engagement Assist with curriculum development, lesson plans, calendars, and daily preparation Observe YDPs and provide coaching, feedback, and shadowing opportunities Lead daily/weekly staff huddles to support communication and continuous improvement Plan, promote, and conduct special events, activities, and grant‑funded programs Maintain positive relationships with families, schools, and community partners Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development Keep program areas clean, organized, and fully stocked Support volunteers and program assistants; ensure quality programming across areas Monitor supply needs and submit orders within budget Complete required paperwork accurately and on time Assist with parent communication and member support Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college preferred Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth (or equivalent training/experience) Knowledge of youth development and experience creating engaging learning experiences Strong communication and interpersonal skills Prior Boys & Girls Club experience preferred Ability to lead, coach, and support staff Strong organizational and program‑planning skills Ability to manage youth behavior in a positive, professional manner Ability to work independently and as part of a team Work Environment Fast‑paced, active youth environment Multiple activities happening at once Possible exposure to illness; must follow safety protocols Occasional outdoor work in hot or cold weather Must pass all pre‑employment screenings Physical Requirements Ability to walk, sit, stand, climb stairs Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to engage in physical activities with youth Why You'll Love This Role You'll help shape high‑quality programs that change lives You'll support and mentor staff while staying hands‑on with youth You'll grow your leadership skills in a supportive, mission‑driven environment You'll be part of a team committed to safety, inclusion, and

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
