OVERVIEW

The Training and Professional Development Intern is part of the Human Resources and Organizational Development division, which supports the staff who serve the constituents of The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. This role specifically supports the Training and Professional Development function, contributing to initiatives that build on newly developed frameworks to organize and streamline departmental work, as well as to identify more targeted learning and development opportunities for Museum staff. The intern will support projects such as updating and creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), analyzing annual training survey data, and supporting internal training initiatives. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Update and create new standard operating procedures (SOPs) to document internal processes related to new staff orientation, coordinating trainings with external facilitators, maintaining the Learning Management System (LMS), and more Analyze annual training survey data and help compile findings into reports for the department Support Taskforce-related work, including compiling and building training materials for language learning (Spanish and ASL) and updating Media Studies records and compiling resources for future Media Studies Support training promotion by organizing a communication board and information station Interview staff about their job duties and responsibilities, competencies, and skill requirements to support ongoing job role persona work

REQUIREMENTS

Sophomore, junior, or senior at the college level Initiative-taking, highly organized, and able to work independently Proficient use of Microsoft 365, with a high level of comfort using technology to conduct research Good people skills and comfort interviewing, meeting with, and gathering information from a diverse group of staff members across the museum Part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week

Must be able to communicate effectively with staff across the museum, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to move throughout the museum to conduct staff interviews as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
