$14.00 - $16.00 per hour Job description: Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing the highest level of service to our furry clients. This role involves working closely with various animals, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining a clean and organized environment. Attention to detail is a must. Hours are 11am to 7pm M-F. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain utmost cleanliness in kennels, treatment areas, and throughout the hospital to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management. Handle animals with care and restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and behaviors. Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or managing records as required. Requirements Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred; kennel experience is a plus. Familiarity with veterinary practices is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals or equipment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners. Knowledge of animal behavior, care, and basic grooming practices is beneficial.
