Job Description

Overview The Moultrie-Colquitt County Humane Society is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our team. This position plays a vital role in the daily care, health, and comfort of the animals in our shelter. Kennel Technicians help ensure a clean, safe, and loving environment while assisting with feeding, cleaning, enrichment, and general animal care. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and shelter areas daily Feed and provide fresh water to animals according to schedules Monitor animal behavior, appetite, and overall health Assist with walking, exercising, and socializing animals Safely handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments Launder bedding, clean dishes, and maintain supplies Help maintain a calm and sanitary shelter environment Report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to supervisors Assist staff, volunteers, and adopters as needed Interact with customers Administer Medication to animals when needed Qualifications Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays if needed Comfortable working around animals of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and cleaning for extended periods Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous animal care experience is preferred but not required Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient, organized, and passionate about animal welfare. Shelter work can be physically and emotionally demanding, so applicants should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent care to the animals in our community.
Pay:
From $12.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
