As a Dog Groomer, you will play a vital role in ensuring dogs look and feel their absolute best while providing exceptional care and comfort. Responsibilities Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each pet's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure both pet and groomer safety Assess each dog's temperament and health status, alerting veterinary staff or owners of any concerns or abnormalities Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools, cages, and work areas regularly Provide pet care during grooming sessions, ensuring animals are comfortable and stress-free throughout the process Assist with dog training activities as needed to promote good behavior during grooming procedures Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, or behavioral considerations Support kennel or pet sitting duties when required, including heavy lifting of animals or supplies as necessary Keep detailed records of grooming services provided and any observations related to animal health or behavior Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of breed-specific cuts and styles Background in animal handling, including dog training, veterinary technician experience, veterinary assistant experience, or kennel work is highly desirable Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices to ensure safety at all times Ability to lift heavy animals safely and comfortably as part of routine grooming tasks Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners Experience working with animals that require special attention due to medical conditions or behavioral issues Familiarity with pet sitting duties and general animal care responsibilities Strong work ethic with attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare Ability to work in a lively environment that may involve standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks Join our team where your passion for animals meets your professional skills!
