Duties Provide attentive pet care including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed Handle animals safely using proper animal restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during interactions Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and cleaning routines Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to promote pet health and hygiene Support veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments, including dog training and behavior management Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of distress or illness and report concerns promptly Assist with outdoor activities such as walking dogs or supervising playtime to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Support pet boarding operations by ensuring proper animal care protocols are followed and facilities are sanitized regularly Use team lifting techniques when moving heavy supplies or large animals safely within the facility Provide excellent customer service by answering questions from pet owners and ensuring their pets' needs are met with compassion Experience Candidates should bring a background that demonstrates a passion for animal care and hands-on experience in a pet-related environment. Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is highly valued, along with kennel experience or pet sitting roles. Familiarity with dog training techniques, animal behavior understanding, and pet grooming skills will set you apart. Experience working outdoors or in physically demanding settings is beneficial. Candidates should be comfortable performing heavy lifting tasks and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a busy environment.
