Dog Daycare Attendant

Job Description

Summary:
Reporting to the Day Care Manager, the Day Care Attendant is responsible for providing a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment for dogs during their daycare & dog park visits. This position requires excellent customer service skills, as well as knowledge of dog behavior and care, and ultimately a love of and respect for our canine customers.
Responsibilities:
Day Care
  • Monitor the dogs and to ensure they are they are receiving the appropriate amount of attention and care, playing and having fun
  • Providing attention to individual dogs and keeping records of their activity and behavior
  • Provide dogs with fresh water, food, exercise and toileting facilities and occasional treats, according to any instruction provided by owner
  • Maintain a clean environment within the dog care area, including cleaning up & disposing of any waste
  • Observe dogs' behaviors and proactively intercede to avoid aggressive or problematic behaviors
  • Provide daily reports and observations on individual dogs to owners as required or requested
  • Interact with owners, to obtain any required information, answer questions on policies and procedures
  • May be required to check in and check out dogs according to established procedures, including monitoring and restocking supplies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum of 1 year experience of dog-handling in group environment Basic knowledge of dog body language High School graduate or GED required Demonstrated excellence in Customer Service Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing to staff, leadership and customers Demonstrated ability to supervise dogs, while ensuring their safety Ability to work well within a team environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task and handle stress.
Will be required to pass training course upon hire Physical Abilities Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Physical stamina to play with, exercise and manage dogs
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
