In this energetic role, you'll provide exceptional grooming services that enhance pets' appearance and well-being, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Your expertise in pet handling, grooming, and animal care will help create a welcoming environment where every pet leaves looking and feeling their best. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your love of animals with professional growth in a lively, supportive setting. Pay is 40% commission plus tips. Three paid Holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Typical schedule is Tuesday - Friday, every other Saturday, 8AM to grooming/cleaning completion. Hours/days may vary depending on Holidays and other factors determined by business owners. Duties Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing touches tailored to each pet's breed and individual needs Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process Restrain pets safely using appropriate techniques to facilitate grooming while minimizing stress or discomfort Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and work areas to uphold health standards Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth experience for clients Support team members with additional pet care tasks such as basic veterinary assistance or kennel duties when needed Qualifications At least three years prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is required Certifications or qualifications from previous professional grooming training programs preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is a strong plus Familiarity with veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to handle pets with special needs Demonstrated ability to handle dogs & cats safely and confidently, including heavy lifting of large or heavy pets when necessary Strong customer service skills to build positive relationships with pet owners Experience with animal restraint, pet sitting, kennel work, or equine handling is advantageous Passion for animal care combined with excellent communication skills to ensure a caring environment for all pets Reliable, punctual and able to work independently Join us in making a difference in pets' lives every day!
