Job Description
Job Overview Join the team at Angel of Hope Animal Rescue as a Cat Caretaker and help provide exceptional care to cats waiting for their forever homes. Responsibilities include cleaning kennels, feeding, refreshing water, scooping litter boxes, monitoring health, and providing enrichment and socialization. You'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while working with staff, volunteers, and adopters. We're looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, compassionate, and passionate about animal welfare. Responsibilities Responsibilities Provide daily care for shelter cats, including feeding, watering, medicating, and monitoring their health and behavior Clean and sanitize kennels, litter boxes, dishes, bedding, and all cat care areas Ensure cats have clean bedding, fresh water, toys, and enrichment each day Safely handle and move cats throughout the shelter for cleaning, medical care, and adoptions Monitor for signs of illness, injury, or stress and report concerns to the management or veterinary team Assist with animal intake, vaccinations, and routine treatments as directed Help prepare cats for adoption by providing socialization and maintaining clean, welcoming kennels Wash laundry, restock food, litter, and cleaning supplies, and keep work areas organized Follow shelter sanitation, disease prevention, and safety protocols to protect the health of animals and staff Assist with adoption events, transports, and other shelter operations as needed Skills & Qualifications Experience caring for cats or other animals (rescue, shelter, kennel, veterinary, or pet care preferred) Comfortable handling cats of all ages and temperaments Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move supplies Basic knowledge of animal behavior and health Dependable, compassionate, and able to work independently or as part of a team Ready to spend your days making a difference for cats?
