Dog Groomer - Hometown Dog BoardingJob Overview At Hometown Dog Boarding , we believe every dog deserves exceptional care, comfort, and attention. We're looking for a passionate and dependable Dog Groomer to join our team and provide high-quality grooming services in a safe, friendly, and pet-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with dogs of all breeds and personalities while helping them look and feel their best. As part of our boarding and daycare team, you'll play an important role in ensuring pets receive outstanding care during their stay. Your grooming expertise, patience, and compassion will help create a positive experience for both our canine guests and their owners. Responsibilities Perform professional grooming services, including bathing, brushing, blow-drying, haircuts, breed-specific styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and de-shedding treatments. Safely handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments using low-stress handling techniques. Monitor pets for signs of skin conditions, parasites, or other health concerns and communicate observations to management and pet owners. Consult with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and recommend services that support their dog's health and comfort. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized grooming salon, including grooming tools, tubs, tables, and workstations. Work closely with the boarding and daycare team to ensure pets are safely transitioned between grooming appointments and lodging areas. Assist with kennel care, pet handling, and daily animal care tasks as needed to support overall operations. Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming experience for clients and their pets. Qualifications Previous professional dog grooming experience preferred. Knowledge of breed-specific grooming styles and coat care techniques. Confidence handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments. Strong understanding of animal behavior and safe restraint practices. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team. Ability to lift and safely assist dogs of varying sizes.
