A Walk in the Park is looking for a dependable, organized Dog Daycare & Boarding Support Coordinator to help keep our daycare and boarding operation running safely and smoothly. This is not a traditional front desk or receptionist position. You will spend part of your day working with clients, reservations, records and our pet-care software, and a significant part of your day working behind the scenes with our dogs and daycare team. The Support Coordinator helps connect the different parts of our operation. You will help coordinate the movement of dogs throughout the building, assist with feeding and boarding care, maintain accurate records, communicate with staff and clients, clean and organize work areas, and step in where needed to keep the day's schedule moving. This is a good position for someone who enjoys dogs but also likes being busy, staying organized and making sure important details don't get missed. New employees start at $14.00 per hour during the 90-day probationary period. After successful completion of the probationary period, employees are eligible for wage increases based on demonstrated proficiency, reliability and performance. The current wage range for this position extends to $16.50 per hour. Schedule This position works primarily Monday through Friday on a rotating two-week schedule: Week 1: 7:00 AM-3:15 PM Week 2: 2:00 PM-10:30 PM The rotation then repeats. Applicants must be available to work both shifts. This is not a mornings-only or evenings-only position. Occasional weekend and holiday shifts are also required. We provide boarding care 365 days a year, so our dogs still need care on weekends and holidays. What You'll Do Greet clients and assist with dog drop-offs and pick-ups Check dogs in and out and maintain accurate information in Gingr Review boarding, feeding, medication and other care instructions Communicate important information between clients, daycare staff, boarding staff and management Safely move dogs between kennels, bedrooms, playgroups, yards and other areas of the facility Coordinate dog movement and transitions with other staff Assist daycare counselors during major group transitions Prepare meals according to each dog's individual instructions Assist with medication procedures after appropriate training Maintain accurate feeding, medication, daycare and boarding records Keep track of arriving and departing daycare and boarding dogs Prepare headcount sheets and other daily operational paperwork Help prepare paperwork and information needed for the following day's operation Monitor dogs while handling them and report health or behavioral concerns Help with potty breaks and individual dog care when needed Wash dishes, do laundry and keep dog-care supplies organized Clean and sanitize dog-care areas, workspaces and common areas Help the daycare and boarding team with other tasks necessary to keep the operation safe, clean and running smoothly Accurate recordkeeping is an important part of this job. Our Support Coordinators help maintain information about boarding stays, feeding, enrichment, allergies, arrivals and departures and other daily care details. This Is a Hands-On Dog Care Job Although this position includes client service and computer work, you will not spend your shift sitting behind a front desk. On a typical day you may check in a client, update information in Gingr, move dogs between areas, prepare food, answer a staff question, clean up an accident, do laundry, organize boarding belongings and prepare paperwork for the next day. Dogs are messy. Cleaning is a normal and substantial part of working in professional dog care. You must be willing to clean urine, feces, vomit, dog hair and mud, as well as wash dishes and laundry and clean floors, dog-care spaces and equipment. Food and Boarding Care Attention to detail is especially important when working with boarding dogs. Dogs may have individual diets, feeding schedules, allergies and special instructions. Staff are expected to read and follow those instructions carefully and accurately document the care provided. Employees who are trained and authorized to administer medications must follow our medication procedures exactly. Medication administration requires careful identification of the dog, verification of instructions and accurate documentation. If something is unclear, we expect employees to ask rather than guess. You should be able to:

Reliably arrive on time for scheduled shifts Work both sides of the alternating morning/evening schedule Work occasional weekends and holidays Remain organized while several things are happening at once Follow written procedures and individual care instructions carefully Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and coworkers Learn and use computer-based pet-care software Work comfortably around dogs of different sizes, ages and activity levels Safely handle and move dogs after training Work indoors and outdoors throughout the year Stand, walk and remain physically active for extended periods Safely lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Perform substantial daily cleaning Pay close attention to food, medication and safety instructions Notice problems and communicate them promptly Work cooperatively as part of a team Professional dog-care experience is helpful, but it isn't the only thing we're looking for. Reliability, attention to detail, good judgment and willingness to learn are extremely important in this position.
