Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant team as a Dog Walker and Pet Sitter, where your passion for animals and energetic spirit will shine! In this dynamic role, you will provide exceptional care and exercise for a variety of pets, ensuring their happiness, health, and safety. Whether you're taking dogs on invigorating walks, offering overnight in-home care, or attending to the unique needs of each animal, your dedication will make a meaningful difference in pets' lives and their owners' peace of mind. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, build strong bonds with animals, and develop your skills in animal handling and care. Duties Lead engaging and safe dog walks, ensuring proper leash handling and pet exercise tailored to each dog's energy level and behavior. Provide reliable pet sitting services including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining a clean environment. Offer overnight in-home care to pets, including companionship, feeding schedules, and monitoring their well-being during extended absences. Handle animals with patience and confidence using animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming or veterinary visits. Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' activities, behaviors, and any concerns that arise during care. Assist with basic training or behavioral reinforcement to promote good habits and positive interactions among animals. Perform outdoor work such as yard cleanup or walking routes to ensure a safe environment for pets during outings. Experience Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care roles is highly preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques and understanding of animal behavior enhances your ability to manage diverse pets confidently. Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a strong plus, providing insight into animal health needs. Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary experience helps in recognizing signs of illness or distress. Experience with equine care or large animals is beneficial but not required; a passion for working outdoors is essential. Strong client communication skills are vital for building trust with pet owners and delivering exceptional customer service. Ability to lift heavy items such as pet supplies or bags of food safely while maintaining proper animal handling techniques. This role is perfect for energetic individuals who love working outdoors, enjoy caring for animals of all types, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new furry friends to care for!
