Launch Your Career with CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps as a Community Engagement & Outreach Member! Looking to gain paid, hands-on experience while building your professional skills? Serve with WVIA through CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps and develop real-world experience in community outreach, communications, marketing, partnership development, and nonprofit operations. This AmeriCorps position is designed as a job training opportunity for individuals interested in careers in communications, public relations, marketing, nonprofit management, community engagement, public service, or related fields. You'll receive mentorship, professional development, and meaningful experience while helping strengthen community connections and expand awareness of WVIA's educational and community programming. Recent graduates, career changers, and individuals looking to build professional experience are encouraged to apply. No previous nonprofit or outreach experience is required as we provide the training and support you need to succeed. Way Pittston, PA 18640 Schedule Approximately 37.5 hours per week Typical schedule is flexible based on outreach and event schedules and may include occasional evenings and weekends. Limited local travel may be required. You'll Gain Experience In Community outreach and engagement Public relations and communications Marketing and social media Event planning and support Partnership development Stakeholder relationship management Community education and public engagement Data collection and performance tracking Nonprofit operations Professional communication Primary Responsibilities Assist with outreach to community organizations, events, and partners Support recruitment and engagement of participants, volunteers, and community partners Participate in community engagement activities that promote WVIA programs Help build and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations and community stakeholders Support communication and follow-up with community partners Assist with preparation and logistics for community events Engage participants during community programs and outreach activities Create and share social media and promotional content Track outreach activities, participation, and engagement data Participate in AmeriCorps orientation, trainings, and professional development Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps Ability to pass the required National Service Criminal History Checks Willingness to occasionally serve evenings, weekends, and travel locally for outreach activities Ideal Candidate This position may be a great fit if you: Are interested in communications, marketing, nonprofit work, public relations, community engagement, or public service Enjoy building relationships and connecting with people in the community Have strong communication and interpersonal skills or are eager to develop them Are comfortable speaking with diverse groups and representing an organization professionally Can adapt to changing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team Are comfortable learning new technology and using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, social media, or similar platforms Are motivated to learn, grow professionally, and make a positive impact in the community Preferred Experience The following experience is helpful but not required: Community outreach or volunteer engagement Communications, marketing, public relations, or social media Event planning or community programming Public speaking or customer service Experience with nonprofit organizations, CRM systems, or data tracking Application Process Apply through Indeed.
