In this energetic role, you will serve as a vital link between pet owners, caregivers, and our facility, ensuring that every pet receives compassionate care and that clients feel confident and supported. Your expertise in animal handling, veterinary practices, and pet care will drive positive experiences and promote animal welfare across our community. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a lively environment dedicated to enhancing the lives of pets and their owners. Duties Assist pet owners with questions about pet care, behavior, and health, providing clear guidance based on veterinary best practices Handle animals safely and confidently during intake, examinations, grooming, or transfer processes, utilizing proper restraint techniques Support veterinary staff with basic animal care tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and administering medications under supervision Conduct outdoor activities including walking dogs, supervising playtime, and managing outdoor enclosures to promote physical activity and well-being Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of supplies or animals while maintaining safety standards Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, treatments, and client interactions to ensure accurate documentation Support pet grooming, sitting services, or kennel duties as needed to ensure high-quality pet care experiences Skills Proven veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant with knowledge of animal health protocols Strong dog handling skills coupled with experience in dog training and understanding canine behavior Extensive animal handling expertise across various species including dogs and horses (equine experience preferred) Excellent customer service abilities to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and safe manual handling practices for animals of different sizes and temperaments Familiarity with pet care facilities including kennels, grooming stations, or boarding environments Outdoor work experience involving active supervision of pets in open spaces or outdoor enclosures Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking Understanding of animal welfare principles and behavior management strategies to ensure safe and humane treatment of all animals involved Join us in creating a caring environment where animals thrive!
