Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Technician/Receptionist to join our veterinary practice. This role involves providing exceptional pet care, managing kennel duties, and delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with animals and pet owners, contributing to their well-being and comfort. Responsibilities Care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring health status Restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments using proper animal restraint techniques Provide pet grooming services such as bathing, brushing, and trimming as needed Support veterinary staff with animal care procedures and assist during medical examinations Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and greeting clients Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel area and reception space Handle pet sitting responsibilities for clients requiring overnight or extended care Assist with heavy lifting of supplies or animals when necessary Skills Experience in dog handling, animal restraint, or kennel operations preferred Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus Knowledge of pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care techniques Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently Familiarity with dog training or veterinary experience is advantageous Compassionate attitude towards animals and pet owners Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a caring demeanor
