Barn Manager Sammamish Animal Sanctuary Renton, WA Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $55,000 a year 1 hour ago Qualifications Volunteer management Facilities management Moving Farm experience Records management Mentoring Full Job Description Job Overview The Barn Manager at Sammamish Animals Sanctuary is primarily responsible for the animals and the facilities. This position is the face of the sanctuary on-site on a daily basis, working with animals, volunteers and visitors. The Barn Manager reports to the Sanctuary Manager and works in conjunction with the SM to ensure the animals are healthy and the facility is safe and inviting. Knowledge of and experience with large farm animals is necessary to be successful in this position. Additionally, a basic understanding of facilities management is required. The Barn Manager will also need a basic understanding of non-profit operations and working with volunteers. A commitment to the mission of the organization is critical. The responsibilities of the Barn Manager include:
  • Train, mentor and organize volunteers and interns onsite
  • Monitor tasks list to ensure all tasks are performed each day
  • Coordinate daily sanctuary operations with Sanctuary Manager
  • Be available to volunteers, SM and Director while on-site and by text
  • Keep all buildings clean and organized
  • Move animals if adverse weather or emergency conditions arise
  • Alert SM/Director regarding animal health issues
  • Keep animal health records updated
  • Keep animals, visitors and volunteers safe
  • Update SM on feed/supplies/medication
  • Administer medications per vet orders
  • Respond to emails, phone calls and other communication
  • Help volunteers with visitor escalation as needed
  • Other tasks as directed by the Sanctuary Manager and/or Director The Sammamish Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides forever homes for abused, neglected, unwanted, and/or homeless barnyard animals.
We do not breed, sell, or buy our animals.
