Overnight Kennel Technician Peoria, AZ 85383 $17.00 - $19.50 an hour - Full-time Apply with Indeed $17.00 - $19.50 an hour - Full-time Overnight Canine Care Team Member Dog Trainer U.S. Dog Trainer U.S. is seeking a dependable, responsible, and compassionate Overnight Canine Care Team Member to join our professional canine care and training team. This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs, is comfortable working independently, and understands that excellent animal care requires attention to detail, consistency, cleanliness, and reliability. Position Responsibilities The Overnight Canine Care Team Member is responsible for the safety, comfort, and care of dogs staying with us overnight.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing scheduled nighttime and early-morning potty breaks Administering medications as directed and appropriately documented Monitoring dogs for changes in behavior, health, appetite, elimination, or comfort Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment Cleaning kennels, crates, dog areas, and common areas as needed Following established handling, safety, and training protocols Maintaining the training and behaviors established by our professional trainers Accurately documenting care, medications, feeding, elimination, and any concerns Immediately communicating health, behavioral, or safety concerns to management Completing assigned overnight cleaning and facility responsibilities Ensuring all dogs and the facility remain safe and secure throughout the night What We Are Looking For Our ideal candidate is: Extremely dependable and punctual Comfortable working overnight hours Comfortable working independently Confident around dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions Observant and able to recognize when something about a dog's behavior or physical condition is "not quite right" Willing to clean— this is an important part of professional animal care Physically capable of being active, bending, lifting, walking dogs, and performing routine cleaning duties Calm and capable of responding appropriately if an unexpected situation occurs Professional, trustworthy, and committed to providing exceptional care Previous experience working with dogs, veterinary medicine, boarding facilities, shelters, dog training, or animal care is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right individual who has an excellent work ethic and a genuine desire to learn. More Than "Watching Dogs" This is not a position where someone simply sleeps at the facility while dogs are present. The person filling this role becomes an important part of the Dog Trainer U.S. team and is entrusted with the wellbeing and safety of our clients' dogs during the overnight hours. Many of the dogs in our care are participating in structured training programs. Consistency matters. Our overnight team members are expected to follow our handling procedures and reinforce the structure, boundaries, and behaviors established during training. Why Join Dog Trainer U.S.? CANDIDATES
must be available for a Zoom Interview according to the following schedule. Sunday 9-6 between the hours of 8:15 to 11:30 am or Tuesday 9-8 between 12pm to 4pm. For those candidates that make it past the initial interview we will Invite them to do a work-a-day (where they come to the Dog Trainer U.S. and get immersed in the day to day happenings, while shadowing another staff member for a few hours).
