Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Dog Handler to join our team and provide exceptional care for our canine and feline clients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals, possess strong animal handling skills, and enjoy engaging with dogs in a safe and nurturing environment. This role involves supervising playtime, ensuring pet safety, and maintaining a clean and organized facility to promote the well-being of all animals in our care. Responsibilities Supervise group play sessions and monitor dog behavior Ensure safe interactions between dogs of different sizes and temperaments Feed, water, and exercise/walk dogs according to schedules Clean kennels, play areas, toys, bedding, and common spaces Monitor dogs for signs of illness, stress, injury, or aggression Report behavioral or medical concerns to management Follow daycare safety, sanitation, and animal care policies Administer medications when instructed (including injections such as insulin) Provide basic grooming or bathing services if required Maintain accurate daily records and reports Communicate professionally with pet owners and coworkers Skills •
REQUIRED
Strong animal handling experience or experience working in a pet daycare/boarding facility. Confident working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments including cats. Experience in pet grooming, pet sitting or dog training is a plus Veterinary experience, kennel, shelter experience background is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving supplies or assisting with larger animals (Must be able to lift up to 50lbs) and maintain physical stamina throughout shifts. Ability to handle active and energetic dogs safely Knowledge of animal care best practices and kennel operations Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners Knowledge of canine body language and behavior Strong communication and teamwork skills This position offers an engaging work environment dedicated to animal welfare. Scheduling:
Must be able to work one weekend day and one major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New years) . Wage based on previous experience and performance. This position starts off as part-time but can become a full-time shift. Shifts starts as early as 6:00 AM. Closing shifts end at 7pm. Flexible shifts based on availability. Morning shifts required for training before able to do afternoon shifts.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
