Job Summary We are seeking a mature and dedicated Equine Rescue Manager/Caretaker/Trainer to lead efforts in rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for 50 or more horses in need. This vital role combines hands-on animal care, operational management, and training to ensure the well-being and proper handling of rescued equines. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive equine experience, and a proactive approach to animal welfare. Duties Oversee the rescue, intake, and assessment of horses in need, ensuring humane treatment throughout all processes Manage daily care routines including feeding, grooming, veterinary and farrier care coordination, and health monitoring Lead the training and correcting equine bhavior, starting young horses and restarting older horses Supervise small staff and volunteers, providing guidance on animal handling, safety standards, and proper use of equipment Maintain detailed records of each horse's health status, training progress, and rehabilitation plans Ensure compliance with safety standards in all aspects of animal care, equipment operation, and facility management Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of animals or supplies using appropriate techniques to prevent injury Maintain the overall cleanliness and safety of the facility including sprinkler systems, arena and outdoor work zones Skills Extensive equine experience including handling, training, and husbandry practices Knowledge of livestock management practices with a focus on horse behavior and welfare Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments involving animals and heavy equipment Experience with outdoor work environments requiring manual handling and heavy lifting techniques Basic math skills for inventory management or measurement tasks related to animal care or equipment use Join us in this rewarding role where your expertise will directly impact the lives of horses in need.
