We were voted Best of Toledo Dog Daycare in 2024. We are not a traditional all-day-play daycare. Dogs move through structured small-group play, enrichment activities, training games, individual attention, and rest periods. Our team focuses on safety, positive reinforcement, dog behavior, and each dog's individual needs. We are looking for a reliable, observant, and hardworking Dog Daycare Counselor who wants to learn and contribute to a professional dog-care team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Supervise small dog playgroups and help maintain safe, appropriate social interactions Observe canine body language, emotional state, energy level, and changes in behavior Use positive reinforcement and humane handling methods Support shy, anxious, highly excited, and socially selective dogs Help introduce new dogs safely and gradually Lead enrichment activities, training games, and structured daily rotations Record behavioral observations and communicate important information to coworkers Clean and sanitize playrooms, sleeping areas, equipment, floors, and outdoor yards Wash dishes and laundry, empty waste, and keep work areas organized Clean up urine, feces, vomit, mud, hair, and other routine animal-care messes Work cooperatively with the team and assist wherever needed
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A
genuine interest in dog behavior, welfare, enrichment, and positive reinforcement Reliability, good judgment, patience, and attention to detail The ability to remain calm in a loud, active, and physically demanding environment Willingness to perform substantial daily cleaning and sanitation work Comfort working with dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities Ability to stand and move for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds Reliable transportation Availability for weekends, holidays, and inclement weather Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check Animal-care, training, boarding, grooming, veterinary, or shelter experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to teach the right person who is dependable, observant, and interested in learning.
