Cosmetologist Grand Oaks of Palm City and Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach Jensen Beach, FL Job Details Part-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Cosmetology License In-person customer service Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities Full Job Description Job Summary Grand Oaks of Palm City and Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach is seeking a friendly, dependable, and licensed Cosmetologist to provide professional hair services to residents in our assisted living community. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with older adults, including residents with mobility limitations or cognitive impairments. This position requires excellent customer service and careful attention to sanitation, safety, and resident preferences. Responsibilities Provide haircuts, shampoos, blowouts, styling, coloring, perms, and other services allowed under your license. Consult with residents to understand their preferences and desired services. Treat residents with patience, dignity, compassion, and respect. Safely accommodate residents who use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming salon environment. Clean and disinfect tools, equipment, chairs, workstations, and surfaces between appointments. Follow all sanitation, infection-control, safety, and assisted living community requirements. Recognize and report concerns such as broken skin, swelling, sores, or possible infections to the appropriate nursing staff. Maintain an organized appointment schedule and accurate service records. Communicate service prices and collect or document payments according to community procedures. Protect resident privacy and follow all community policies. Maintains supplies by checking stock, anticipating clients' needs, and placing orders. Qualifications Current and active Florida cosmetology license. Experience providing both hair services. Knowledge of proper sanitation and infection-control practices. Dependable, organized, patient, and able to work independently. Previous experience working in assisted living, senior living, or long-term care is preferred but not required. Must successfully complete all background screening and documentation requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements. Ability to safely work with residents who have limited mobility. Ability to lift and carry salon supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
