Job Description
At VaZa Salon, we believe great stylists are developed through education, mentorship, and hands-on experience . We're looking for a motivated Salon Assistant who wants more than just an assistant job. If your goal is to become a confident, successful stylist behind the chair, we'll provide the training, coaching, and real salon experience to help you get there. What You'll Do Assist stylists with shampoos, treatments, color services, and styling Prepare and care for guests throughout their appointments Support stylists and the salon team during busy days Maintain a clean, organized, and professional salon environment Assist with front desk responsibilities when needed What You'll Gain Hands-on technical education and training One-on-one mentorship with experienced stylists Monthly coaching and career development Real experience working in a busy, professional salon A clear path toward becoming a stylist Ongoing opportunities to learn and grow Who We're Looking For NYS Cosmetology License or Temporary License Previous salon experience preferred Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Positive, professional attitude Reliable and team-oriented Takes initiative and is open to coaching and feedback Serious about building a career behind the chair Pay & Benefits $17/hour + tips 401(k) retirement plan Paid sick leave Complimentary salon services Employee product discounts Flexible scheduling Schedule Full-time or part-time 24-32 hours per week Tuesday-Saturday Day and evening shifts Grow With VaZa Our goal isn't to keep you as an assistant forever.
