Lead Costume Technician Reports to Technical Director Direct reports: Stitchers, Dressers, etc

Part-time Position Summary:
Oversee and aid in the implementation of the costume designs for Park Square productions, work closely with and support the costume designers to effectively and efficiently execute and maintain the costume and wig designs for productions. Oversee the care and maintenance of the costume shop and costume pieces; Aid wardrobe crew. Provide support when needed for costume related needs for projects like education programs, workshops, second stage and Lab productions and on any event that may require interfacing with the costume department. Please note that Park Square Theatre is in active negotiations with
IATSE 13.
This position will be covered by the upcoming Bargaining Agreement.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the Costume Shop and Storage Leading fittings and measurements w/scheduling help from Stage Management Purchase Supplies Help monitor the costume budget and expenditure Attend Production Department/ Production Meetings Identify needs for additional staff (stitchers, etc) and report the need to TD. (Stitching) Label, Alterations or Create Small Pieces depending on show needs. Monitor and facilitate returns. Prepare Dressing Rooms (Clean, Label Dividers, Ditty Bags, Laundry Bags, Makeup Containers, Air Purifiers, Assign Mirrors/ Dressing Rooms with Stage Management) prior to technical rehearsals. Create Wardrobe Paperwork to hand off to dresser/wardrobe. Strike Show (Clean Dressing Rooms, Do Final Laundry, Return pieces to storage) Dry Clean Costumes. Facilitate Rentals.
Qualifications:
Experience working as a Wardrobe supervisor or experience in a professional or academic setting working with costumes. High school Diploma required Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience in scheduling and managing crews is a must. Efficient computer skills and experience with Google Suite Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Reliable transportation, ability to run errands Ability to work a variable schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds Must be a team player Ability to lift, move, and pull 50-100 lbs. Consistently bend, kneel, and ability to move up and down ladders and other equipment

Right of first refusal for any Show-Run Wardrobe positions on a Park Square production.
