  • Dry Eye Treatment Center Lead Hinsdale Advanced Eye Care Full-Time | Western Suburbs of Chicago Position Overview Hinsdale Advanced Eye Care is seeking an experienced, motivated Licensed Medical Esthetician to lead and help grow our Dry Eye Treatment Center .
This is a unique opportunity for an esthetician who is interested in working within a medical eye care environment and developing expertise in the rapidly growing area of dry eye and ocular surface treatment. The ideal candidate will combine excellent patient care skills, technical ability, professionalism, and an interest in helping build and expand a specialty service within our practice. The primary focus of this position will be supporting and performing physician-directed dry eye treatments and managing the day-to-day patient experience within our Dry Eye Treatment Center. As the program grows, there will also be opportunities to expand aesthetic services that complement our medical eye care and dry eye treatment offerings , consistent with professional scope of practice and practice protocols. Key Responsibilities Dry Eye Treatment Center Leadership Serve as the primary team member responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Dry Eye Treatment Center. Provide an exceptional, professional patient experience from consultation through treatment and follow-up. Perform appropriately delegated dry eye and periocular treatments in accordance with physician direction, training, applicable regulations, and scope of practice. Assist with treatments and technologies used in the management of dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction, and eyelid disease. Prepare patients for treatment, explain procedures and aftercare, and reinforce physician-directed treatment plans. Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, supplies, and established cleaning and safety protocols. Monitor inventory and assist with ordering treatment supplies and recommended home-care products. Maintain accurate documentation related to treatments performed. Help develop efficient workflows, treatment protocols, patient education materials, and follow-up systems for the Dry Eye Treatment Center. Work closely with the doctors and clinical team to provide a coordinated approach to patient care. Patient Education & Relationship Building Educate patients about dry eye treatments, eyelid hygiene, maintenance therapies, and physician-recommended home care. Help patients understand the importance of ongoing treatment and maintenance for chronic dry eye and eyelid conditions. Develop long-term relationships with patients and create a welcoming, supportive treatment experience. Communicate clearly and professionally regarding treatment expectations, scheduling, pricing, treatment packages, and follow-up care. Aesthetic Growth Opportunity As our Dry Eye Treatment Center develops, we see a natural opportunity to expand into medical aesthetics and periocular aesthetic services that complement the health and appearance of the eyes and surrounding skin. The individual in this role will have the opportunity to help shape this area of the practice. Depending upon experience, licensure, training, patient demand, and applicable scope-of-practice requirements, opportunities may include: Developing aesthetic services that complement dry eye and ocular surface care. Assisting in evaluating new aesthetic technologies, treatments, and product lines. Developing treatment protocols and patient education for new aesthetic services. Helping introduce and market aesthetic services to our existing patient population. Participating in staff education and patient events related to dry eye, skin care, and aesthetics. Helping build a long-term vision for an integrated eye wellness, dry eye, and aesthetics program within the practice. We are especially interested in someone who is excited about the opportunity to take ownership of this service line and grow with it . Qualifications Current esthetician licensure required, with eligibility to practice in Illinois. Medical esthetics experience strongly preferred. Experience working in an ophthalmology, optometry, dermatology, plastic surgery, or medical spa setting is a plus. Experience with energy-based devices, facial treatments, skin care, or other medical aesthetic technologies is highly desirable. Strong interest in dry eye, ocular surface health, and periocular aesthetics. Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills. Comfortable discussing treatment recommendations, fees, products, and ongoing maintenance programs with patients. Highly organized and able to manage treatment schedules, inventory, follow-up, and multiple patient needs. Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative medical team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Willingness to participate in additional training and continuing education related to dry eye and aesthetic treatments.
