We are a local, woman-owned & operated cremation provider built on compassion, honesty, and genuine care. And a team that never forgets the person and family behind each arrangement. We are looking for a Funeral Director who believes in that vision and wants to help carry it forward. A Funeral Director Role Focused on Families This is not a traditional funeral home position. Our Funeral Directors are able to spend the majority of their time doing what many people entered this profession to do in the first place: helping families. Your primary focus will be meeting with families, guiding them through arrangements, answering questions, completing necessary documentation, communicating throughout the process, and making an incredibly difficult time feel more manageable. Because we specialize in cremation, you are not coordinating a full calendar of visitations, funerals, church services, cemetery committals, and traditional service details. The coordination is intentionally lighter, giving our Funeral Directors more time to focus on the family itself. We also have a dedicated Transfer Care Team that handles transfers during evenings and weekends. You are not expected to spend your nights making removals after working with families all day. We have intentionally built our model so each person on our team can focus on what they do best while still working together to provide exceptional care. Schedule Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM On-call every third week to support families Dedicated Transfer Care Specialists care for families on evening and weekend transfers The weekend on-call responsibility is primarily about being available to support families, answer questions, and help when needed. Our Transfer Care Team handles the physical transfers into our care. Caring for Families Our Funeral Directors work directly with families from the first conversation through the completion of arrangements and the return of their loved one's cremated remains. You will listen carefully, explain each step clearly, complete arrangements, answer questions, and help families feel steady during a time that can feel emotional and overwhelming. The work can be busy, and multiple families may need guidance at the same time. Paperwork must be completed accurately, communication must remain responsive, and important details cannot be missed. But no matter how busy the day becomes, the family in front of us should never feel rushed or like another name on a list. That is at the heart of who we are. We care for families the way we would want our own family cared for. What You Will Do Meet with families and guide them through cremation arrangements with patience, compassion, and clarity Listen closely to what matters to each family and help them make decisions with confidence Explain services, pricing, authorizations, timelines, and next steps honestly and without pressure Complete death certificates, cremation authorizations, permits, and required documentation accurately and promptly Maintain thoughtful and responsive communication with families throughout the entire process Coordinate with hospitals, hospices, nursing facilities, medical examiners, county offices, and other community professionals Work closely with our Transfer Care Team, crematory team, and other staff Assist families with obituaries, urns, memorial items, and personalized requests Maintain organized and complete case records Help identify ways to make the experience simpler, more supportive, and more personal for families Contribute ideas and help develop processes as Minnesota Cremation Services continues to grow Step in and support the team wherever needed The Person We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is kind, capable, dependable, and deeply committed to caring for people.
