JOB OVERVIEW
The experienced Funeral Director/Embalmer plays a vital role in providing compassionate support and guidance to families during their time of loss. This position involves overseeing all aspects of funeral services, from planning and coordinating ceremonies to ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The Funeral Director/Embalmer must demonstrate a deep understanding of bereavement support, anatomy, and physiology, while also possessing strong customer service skills to effectively assist grieving families. We need at least 5 years of experience. Compensation is based on experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner. Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, including removals and transfers embalming, dressing, and casketing. Arrange for and oversee interment or cremation. Prepare necessary legal paperwork, including contracts, authorizations, death certificates, and transit permits.
REQUIREMENTS
Active and In Good Standing Funeral Director License and Embalmer License with the state of New York. Strong embalming skills. Ability to serve and maintain several families at each time. Excellent communication skills. Detailed oriented. Elevated levels of empathy and compassion. Good understanding of computers and standard software including MS Word, and MS Excel. Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule. Clean driving record.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
