We're adding a dedicated alterations space on our second floor for the busy prom season and are looking for a skilled independent seamstress to join us. The Opportunity This is a seasonal, independent contractor position. There is no hourly pay. from Amari. The estimate listed is simply an average estimate of what you potentially may earn from your clients. You'll run your own alterations business out of our second-floor studio, setting your own hours, booking your own appointments, and working directly with customers who are getting ready for prom and other formal events. Responsibilities Perform alterations on prom and formal gowns, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, adjusting straps, bustles, and bodice fitting Handle more involved work such as beaded, lace, tulle, and layered fabrics with care Re-Steam dresses prior to pick up appointments Schedule and manage your own client appointments and work hours Communicate clearly with customers about timelines, pricing, and pickup Complete work on time, especially ahead of prom dates Keep your workspace clean and organized Requirements Proven experience with formal wear or gown alterations Your own industrial or home sewing machine, plus all needed supplies (thread, pins, notions, measuring tools, etc.) Reliable and professional, with strong customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule Portfolio, references, or examples of past work preferred What We Provide Dedicated workspace on the second floor of Amari Prom in Littleton, MA Steady foot traffic and a built-in customer base during prom season [
