Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. This role involves providing high-quality animal care, assisting veterinarians with clinical procedures, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and laboratory techniques, with a passion for pet care and animal welfare. Prior experience in veterinary critical care is highly valued. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and professional setting. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills Perform laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas and surgical suites Monitor animal vital signs and administer medications as directed Care for hospitalized animals, including feeding, grooming, and administering treatments Manage kennel duties, including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animal behavior Support pet owners by providing education on pet care, animal physiology, and post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments performed Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology Experience with animal restraint techniques Proficiency in laboratory procedures and familiarity with diagnostic tools such as X-ray equipment Knowledge of aseptic techniques for surgical preparation and procedures Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory testing procedures Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is ideal for individuals passionate about veterinary medicine who are eager to expand their skills in a dynamic clinical setting. Prior experience in veterinary technician roles or related animal care fields will be advantageous, and compensation is competitive for experienced/ licensed technicians.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
