Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong background in veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility. Duties Provide nursing care to animals, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. Assist in surgical procedures, including preparation and monitoring of anesthesia. Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Conduct routine examinations and assist with dental cleanings, utilizing knowledge of dental terminology. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments, ensuring their comfort and safety. Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and post-operative care. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques. Support the veterinary team with kennel duties, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals. Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience or equivalent is preferred. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology. Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques is essential. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is a plus. Experience with equine care or dog training is beneficial but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals is essential.
