Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and clinic operations. Responsibilities Restrain animals safely and compassionately during exams, blood draws, and medical procedures. Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices Support veterinary procedures including medication administration and patient care Manage daily appointments efficiently, balancing room preparation, patient restraint, and client check-ins under tight time constraints. Help with laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and record keeping to support diagnostic efforts Provide compassionate pet care including feeding, grooming, and monitoring during hospital stays or treatments Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and follow-up needs Support front desk operations by managing appointments, patient records, and client inquiries with professionalism Experience Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Experience working in an animal care facility, veterinary clinic, laboratory, or medical setting is highly desirable Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are essential Ability to follow safety protocols including PPE use and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for all Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent certificate required. Proven time management skills with the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment. Exceptional punctuality and a strong track record of reliable workplace attendance. Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Basic knowledge of animal behavior, medical terminology, and safe handling techniques.
