We are looking for the right candidate to join our team and help our doctors and technicians provide excellent veterinary care! We prefer some veterinary, shelter, or similar experience, but will train the right person. Pay is commensurate with experience. Candidate needs to be reliable and able to consistently work scheduled hours. Maturity and willingness to work in a team setting is essential. Excellent attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, systems and protocols is critical. This position has the potential to evolve into the role of a non-licensed veterinary technician based on the needs of the business and demonstrated performance. (We prefer to advance from within the company when possible.) This job is considered a veterinary assistant and general responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Skills:
Assist technicians and veterinarians in providing care for animals
Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
Process laboratory samples; perform basic laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis
Clean and maintain all areas of the hospital; laundry; trash collection; any organizational tasks needed.
Experience :
Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred
Knowledge of animal health and behavior
Familiarity with aseptic techniques for maintaining a sterile environment
Experience with animal restraint and handling dogs and cats
Some knowledge of vaccinations; heartworm testing/preventative; flea/tick products
At least 2 years working experience in a business setting.

Applicant must have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., walk/stand for extended periods of time and have the stamina to perform the variety of duties needed. Other related duties may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the veterinary practice.
Pay:
$15.50
