Veterinary Assistant A multifaceted role at the heart of hospital operations The Role Veterinary Assistants keep our hospital running and our patients comfortable. This is a hands-on, varied role — one day the focus is preparing a patient with Fear Free care, the next it's greeting a nervous client at check-in or maintaining the ward. Clear communication and strong teamwork are central to the position, since this role connects closely with doctors, techs, reception, and clients throughout the day. What You'll Do Animal & Patient Care Deliver compassionate, Fear Free care to hospitalized and boarded patients Admit and identify animals, track their location, and prep them for release — clean, groomed, and ready to go home Feed, bathe, groom, and monitor patients; collect specimens as directed Assist with medication administration and safe, low-stress restraint Watch for and report any unusual condition or behavior change Reception & Client Experience Support front-desk flow — phones, scheduling, and client texts Greet clients warmly and help create a calm experience from check-in to check-out Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about their pet's care and next steps Hospital Maintenance & Operations Keep cages, runs, wards, and litter areas clean and sanitized on a regular schedule Clean and maintain equipment, supplies, and storage areas Help keep day-to-day hospital operations running smoothly Teamwork & Collaboration Collaborate closely with techs, doctors, and reception as part of a connected team Communicate clearly and proactively, flagging issues early and keeping teammates informed Follow written and verbal direction, and contribute ideas when appropriate Cross-train across functions and build a skill set that grows over time Room to Grow This role is designed to offer meaningful growth over time. Experience:
