In this vital role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing exceptional animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. Your proactive approach and compassionate attitude will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, pet-centered setting while making a meaningful difference in animal welfare. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization in accordance with veterinary standards Help manage front desk responsibilities including client communication, appointment scheduling, record keeping, and client education Handle animals with expertise in dog handling, animal behavior assessment, and general animal husbandry practices Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures by ensuring proper positioning and restraint Support laboratory work including sample collection, processing, and basic testing under supervision Skills Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary clinic experience to efficiently care for animals of various species Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal welfare principles to assist effectively in medical settings Experience in animal catheterization, medication administration, IV insertion, and aseptic techniques Strong animal handling skills with an emphasis on safety and humane restraint methods for dogs, cats, horses (equine experience preferred), and other species Ability to communicate clearly with clients about pet care instructions while demonstrating professionalism at the front desk Skilled in record keeping to accurately document treatments, procedures, and patient histories Familiarity with laboratory procedures and basic diagnostic testing to support veterinary diagnostics This role is perfect for passionate individuals eager to grow their career in veterinary medicine while providing compassionate care.
