Medical Director/Practice Owner Position Type:

Tuesday-Friday Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Administrative Assistant to support the Medical Director, and Practice Owner of our busy practice. This unique role combines administrative duties with veterinary scribe duties, specifically helping prepare medical records for the veterinarians on staff, requiring a blend of organizational prowess, multitasking abilities, and a genuine love for animals. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has great typing speed and dictation skills, excels in problem-solving, and is willing to take on a multitude of varied projects to ensure the smooth operation of our veterinary practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support Manage schedules, appointments, and communications for the Medical Director and Practice Owner Prepare, organize, and maintain files, records, and documents Enter medical records for the associate veterinarians as needed Assist with data entry, reporting, and other clerical tasks as needed. Oversee special projects as assigned by the Medical Director and Practice Owner Open to providing physical assistance during animal procedures including safely restraining animals with care and compassion. Assist educational projects, team building experiences, and managing interviews Assist in new hire operations Collaborate on day-to-day operational needs, including some inventory management and ordering supplies. Serve as a point of contact for team members and clients to ensure seamless communication. Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency within the practice. Special Projects Take ownership of unique or non-traditional tasks and projects as assigned, such as organizing events, creating practice protocols, or researching new initiatives.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably in a veterinary or healthcare setting. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace, and other administrative software. Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology or a willingness to learn. Physical ability to assist in animal restraint and handle animals of varying sizes.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
A genuine passion for animals and the veterinary medicine field. Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in dynamic situations. Flexibility and a can-do attitude to tackle odd or non-standard tasks. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
