Job Description

We are looking for a high-energy, enthusiastic, and experienced preferred vet technician/assistant to join our team at our Greeneville location!

We are a six doctor Veterinary practice in Greeneville, Tennessee. Our Doctors and staff seek to provide the best possible medical care for our highly-valued patients. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for our clients.
Basic job description:
Assisting with diagnostic procedures and acquiring laboratory samples, processing in-house and reference lab samples, taking radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophylaxis, surgical preparation and recovery, hospitalized patient care, critical/emergency care and triage Provides patient restraint during procedures and examinations. Assists with euthanasia when necessary. Maintains surgical equipment, including cleaning and preparation of sterile instruments and surgical packs. Responsible for the daily care of animals by providing appropriate food and water, as well as basic grooming and bathing. Performs cleaning/housekeeping including but not limited to: laundry, floors, trash/recycling, cleaning treatment areas, and maintaining the surgical suite in preparation for procedures. Assists with maintaining an inventory of animal hospital supplies; performs medical equipment maintenance. Maintains proper documentation in the electronic medical record, and maintains other records as required. Ensures personal compliance with applicable laws established by the Tennessee Board of Veterinary Medicine and the US Drug Enforcement Administration. Qualifications Veterinary experience and knowledge of veterinary terminology Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques Familiarity with animal physiology and anatomy Experience with animal catheterization and pet care Skilled in veterinary critical care and hospitalization Relevant experience in X-Ray procedures
