Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with medical procedures including IV insertions, medication administration, surgery support, and animal restraint to ensure safe and efficient patient care Provide compassionate animal handling and husbandry, including dog handling, animal restraint, and behavior management to promote animal welfare and safety Perform thorough record keeping of patient histories, treatment plans, medication logs, and procedural documentation using veterinary terminology and record systems Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by cleaning kennels, treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment following proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) protocols to ensure a sterile environment Support client communication by answering questions about pet care, explaining procedures, and scheduling appointments at the front desk with professionalism and clarity Conduct animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior to support overall health and comfort Assist with specialized procedures like animal catheterization or handling equine/large animal patients when needed to expand your veterinary skill set Qualifications Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred to ensure familiarity with animal care routines Experience in veterinary technology or critical care environments is a strong plus for supporting complex medical cases Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication protocols to effectively assist in clinical tasks Ability to handle dogs confidently and manage animal behavior to ensure safety during examinations and procedures Strong record keeping skills along with excellent client communication abilities for front desk responsibilities Comfort using PPE equipment properly to maintain safety standards for staff and animals during clinical procedures Willingness to learn new skills such as IV insertion or surgery support while adhering to best practices in animal welfare This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in veterinary medicine while making a meaningful difference in animals' lives.
