Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/RVT to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinary staff in delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care, with experience in various veterinary settings, and a passion for animal welfare. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a calm environment for both animals and clients. Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to facilitate safe examinations and treatments. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to aseptic techniques during procedures. Provide basic nursing care, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Assist with laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and analysis. Support dental procedures by utilizing knowledge of dental terminology and techniques. Engage in animal husbandry practices to ensure the well-being of all animals in the facility. Document patient information accurately using veterinary terminology and record-keeping practices. Collaborate with team members to ensure the highest standards of pet care are met. Requirements Previous veterinary experience is highly desirable, including roles such as Veterinary Technician or Assistant. Familiarity with animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices is essential. Experience with dog handling, training, and grooming will be beneficial. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is preferred. Ability to perform animal catheterization and understand veterinary terminology related to procedures. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. A commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals while maintaining professionalism at all times.
