Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care! In this energetic and fast-paced position, you will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, provide compassionate animal handling, and ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Your expertise will support diagnostic procedures, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory work, and emergency care, making a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including animal restraint, anesthesia administration, and monitoring vital signs using veterinary anesthesia equipment. Perform laboratory work such as blood draws (phlebotomy), sample preparation, and diagnostic testing to support accurate diagnoses. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog handling, equine experience, and general animal husbandry practices. Operate medical equipment like X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and laboratory analyzers to facilitate comprehensive patient assessments. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as IV insertion, animal catheterization, and surgical assistance to prevent infections. Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical & intensive care, administering medications, and assisting with veterinary critical care protocols. Document all procedures accurately using veterinary software while maintaining detailed records of patient care and diagnostic results. Assist with radiology diagnostics including X-ray imaging and interpreting basic findings under supervision. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-care guidelines to ensure pet safety and owner understanding. Experience Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy is essential for success in this role. Experience with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, critical & intensive care procedures, and emergency medicine is highly desirable. Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and diagnostic testing enhances your ability to contribute effectively. Proven ability to operate medical equipment safely and accurately is important for supporting surgical and diagnostic activities. Previous veterinary technician experience or equivalent training provides a strong foundation for this role. Strong communication skills combined with a passion for pet care will help foster positive client interactions and team collaboration. Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
