FOCUS:
This role promotes learning, growth as an RVT or Skilled Veterinary Assistant , providing opportunities for advancement towards RVT, leadership, coordination of care, and participating in the mentorship of fellow team members. Our technicians function using critical thinking, and leadership to carry out quality patient treatment care in collaboration with our veterinary team.

WHAT YOU NEED
Credentialed as a veterinary technician strongly preferred or 2+ years of experience specifically in general practice, Urgent Care, or ERCC. Strong patient care skills Basic computer skills, medical record keeping Strong skills in anesthesia, diagnostics, lab work, and patient monitoring Provide information in person & over the phone communicating clearly, appropriately & professionally Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25kg on own and able to support up to 50 kg with assistance. Patient triage and nursing care of hospitalized INC patients Blood draws, catheter placement, lab diagnostics, and imaging
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO
Treat patients, customers with the highest level of compassion, respect and care Perform nursing care tasks such as placing and/or maintaining urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, etc Collect samples and perform diagnostic tests including in-house & point of care tests & diagnostic imaging Be trained to properly perform all aspects of CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer Participate in giving and receiving patient rounds to ensure continuity of care Contribute as a team member to incoming outpatient care and ongoing inpatient care Set-Up, monitor, and administer IVF therapy including CRI Administer
SQF, IM, IV
injections & understand potential adverse effects of medications Use understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment & monitoring parameters to accurately triage incoming patients Perform basic to intermediate nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments Coach & guide veterinary assistants and fellow technicians to perform clinical tasks to maintain standards of care and encourage growth. Collaborate & share knowledge w/ team to ensure optimal patient care Aid in managing patient care workload to ensure the patients are receiving uncompromised care Obtain additional training along guided growth pathways offering roles in addition to direct nursing care, mentorship role, community outreach, and leadership Conduct treatments using clinical decision-making skills according to protocol/SOP's Administer, monitor and maintain patients under general anesthesia with or without mechanical ventilation for patients with carried levels of
