About Us Chase Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservancy is a USDA-regulated nonprofit wildlife sanctuary caring for a diverse collection of over 230 animals — including African penguins, lemurs, tamarins, several species of monkeys, sloths, giant anteaters, otters, armadillos, and more. Our team is proud of a strong track record in exotic and endangered species care, including a thriving critically endangered lemur and cotton-top tamarin breeding program and a notably successful xenarthran (sloth, anteater, armadillo) program — a rare achievement among U.S. institutions. About the Role We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team and support the health and wellbeing of our diverse collection. You'll work closely with our attending veterinarian and specialty consulting veterinarians (including a xenarthran specialist) to deliver hands-on preventive, diagnostic, and hospital-level care on-site. This role will lead a small veterinary support team, with a dedicated part-time technician and a full-time Veterinary Technician Intern reporting directly to you.

What You'll Do:

• Perform weekly body condition scoring and routine physical exams across a wide range of species
• Assist with vaccine protocols, parasite screening, and deworming per species-specific guidance
• Provide on-site hospital care: IV catheter placement and fluid therapy, subcutaneous fluids, incubator/oxygen concentrator support, and minor wound care
• Administer medications as prescribed by the attending veterinarian
• Support quarantine and intake protocols for new arrivals, including monitoring and separate record-keeping
• Assist with diagnostics and coordinate with off-site veterinary and pathology partners as needed
• Help maintain accurate individual health records for each animal in the collection
• Respond to animal health emergencies, including supporting neonatal/hand-rearing cases in coordination with keeper staff

What We're Looking For:

• Certified/Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) with hands-on clinical experience
• Experience with exotic, zoo, or wildlife species strongly preferred
• Comfort working independently and exercising sound judgment when the attending veterinarian is off-site
• Strong record-keeping and communication skills for coordinating across multiple veterinary partners
• Ability to work outdoors in a hands-on animal care environment, including occasional emergency response
• A calm, detail-oriented approach to caring for sensitive, sometimes fragile, animals
• Must be able to work under pressure and balance several tasks at once
