Pay range $18 to $25 per hour, BASED
ON EXPERIENCE
Retirement Plan (401k) with employer matching Flexible Spending Account Incentive Bonus Programs Referral Bonus Programs Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitor and determine normal/abnormal TPRs and QATS Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecal Diagnostic imaging Surgical assisting; preparing and maintaining the surgical environment in order to ensure an asepsis environment for both patient and personal safety. Anesthesia monitoring and endotracheal intubation Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, providing high quality of care for the physical and psychological needs of the patient during hospitalization Proficient in dental prophylaxis Pharmacy and pharmacology knowledge including: preparing and dispensing medications, calculating dosages, recognizing adverse reactions, knowledge of regulations regarding the safe handling of biohazardous materials
Requirements:
Must be available Monday through Friday from 7:30am - 7:00pm MINIMUM of 2-4 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician MUST be proficient in venipuncture for blood draws, IV catheter placement, monitoring non-intubated sedated patients and fully intubated anesthesia patients, dental prophy & x-ray Prefer experience with emergency triage and veterinary CPR Preference given to candidates with certification and/or licensure (CVT, RVT, TVT, LVT, LVMT, etc.) or certification equivalent on the job experience and a minimum of 1 year of experience in such a role High School diploma or GED certificate Must have computer skills Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations Ability to effectively and supportively lead procedure teams Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment Excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency, and working harmoniously with teammates is essential Must be dependable, demonstrate strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
