About the
Position:
Willow Pet Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team! Our technicians work primarily with dogs and cats in a fast-paced, team-oriented general practice where we provide high-quality medical care and strive to make every patient and client feel valued. Our mission is to provide the best care with compassion to our patients and clients. Veterinary Technicians play an important role in supporting our veterinarians, fellow technicians, and client service team while helping ensure our patients receive safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
Specific Duties:
1. Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care. 2. Obtain and document accurate patient histories and communicate relevant information to the veterinarian. 3. Safely and confidently handle and restrain dogs and cats for examinations and procedures. 4. Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing the surgery room and patient, monitoring anesthesia, assisting with recovery, and providing appropriate patient care. 5. Perform laboratory testing and procedures, including bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, and other diagnostic tests. 6. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. 7. Fill prescriptions and provide clients with appropriate medication and treatment instructions. 8. Educate clients on medications, nutrition, preventative care, and at-home patient care. 9. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, assisting with scheduling, and maintaining a professional, cheerful, and helpful attitude. 10. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records. 11. Assist with other hospital duties as needed.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Perform moderately strenuous physical work throughout the day.
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Bend, kneel, reach, and work in a variety of positions as needed for patient care.

  • Willingness to learn and continue developing veterinary skills.
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred; veterinary technician education or certification is a plus.
