Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with a wide range of medical procedures, provide compassionate animal handling, and ensure the highest standards of patient care. Your skills will support critical diagnostics, surgical assistance, and emergency treatments, all while fostering a positive environment for both animals and clients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care. Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Collect blood samples via IV insertion and phlebotomy, ensuring aseptic technique and animal comfort. Operate medical equipment such as radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, laboratory analyzers, and dental units. Monitor animals under anesthesia during surgical procedures, maintaining vital signs and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed. Conduct laboratory work including sample analysis, diagnostic radiology, and pet health assessments. Provide pet care services such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and maintaining kennel cleanliness. Assist with emergency medicine cases by providing critical & intensive care support in high-pressure situations. Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software to document treatments, procedures, and patient progress. Support client communication by explaining procedures, post-operative care instructions, and answering questions professionally. Requirements Proven kennel experience along with animal husbandry skills to ensure proper care before and after procedures. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary surgical assistance techniques. Experience with dental terminology and performing pet grooming or dog training is a plus. Hands-on experience with laboratory diagnostics including phlebotomy and radiology diagnostics such as X-ray imaging. Familiarity with general anesthesia administration, monitoring veterinary anesthesia during surgeries, and vascular access techniques. Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs; equine experience is advantageous but not required. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques in all procedures. Excellent communication skills for client interaction regarding pet care instructions and treatment plans. Prior veterinary technician or related veterinary experience preferred; certification or licensing is highly valued but not mandatory.
